(6) Six-point calibration

  1. Before connecting the camera, in the settings - AI settings, turn on the "Markerless" switch, connect the camera for playback, open the reference video view, and click the menu bar at the top of the software - Reference Video Calibration, select 6-point calibration;

  2. The calibration personnel enter the site, click the "Start Calibration" button at the bottom of the calibration panel, in the pop-up window, input the height of the calibration personnel (the unit in the height input box is mm), after inputting, click the calculate button and then click the save button;

  1. The calibration personnel stand in the APOSE position, click the "Freeze Frame" button, then click the "Add Frame" button. After adding one frame of calibration data, the calibration personnel adjust their position again and follow the same procedure to add sample frames until the calibration result is obtained. The calibration result is recommended to be "Good" or above. If the result is "Poor", we suggest you re-calibrate. During the calibration process, the panel will print the current calibration status and the number of added sample frames.

  1. After calibration is completed, this calibration file will be automatically saved in the current working directory.

  2. Switch the view to the 3D view. Place the model in the capture area, and the 22 Marker points of the Markerless human body will be displayed on the 3D view. At this point, you can create the Markerless human body and start using the software.

Notes:

  • The calibration personnel should stand in the field. Before clicking "freeze frame", observe the images of each shot to ensure that the entire body of the model can be captured and displayed in the view.
  • When adding frames at different positions, do not calibrate at the same position nearby. Instead, change to multiple different positions for calibration so that the software can collect sufficient high-precision sample frames for calculation, achieving better calibration results.
  • When using the Astra Professional software for calibration and loading the calibration file after completion, please close all the input methods downloaded on the computer and use the built-in Microsoft input method of the system.
  • When inputting the height of the model, note that the unit in the input box is millimeters. Convert the actual height of the model into millimeter units and fill it in. Otherwise, incorrect input of the height value will affect the human body effect.
  • The color of the clothes will to some extent affect the calibration effect. During calibration, the more consistent the colors of the clothes on the upper body and lower body are, the better the calibrated human body effect will be.
  • During calibration, the model's feet should be naturally spread apart, and try not to bring the feet together too closely.
  • Since the Astra Professional system relies on the spatial coordinates of the lens for 3D reconstruction, after calibration is completed, do not change the camera position or angle. Otherwise, the reconstruction will be abnormal.
