（5）Software Startup

  1. Before starting the Astra Professional software, please install the corresponding CUDA version according to the graphics card of the computer you are currently using (you can contact Nokov engineers for consultation).

Software activation​

You can contact Nokov engineers to obtain the relevant license and dongle.

The Astra-Professional system offers two types of license authorization: dongle and dongle + net verification.

  1. Dongle Authorization Instructions:

Step 1: Connect the computer to the internet, insert the dongle, and launch Astra Professional.

Step 2: Insert the USB flash drive containing the License;

Step 3: In the Astra-Professional software, click "Select License File";

Step 4: Select the License file from the USB flash drive, then fill in the "User", "Mail", and "TelePhone" information, and click "Activate" to successfully activate the software;

If the customer needs to use the Astra-Professional software on a different computer, simply repeat the above steps on the new computer.

  1. Dongle + net Verification Authorization Instructions:

Step 1: Connect the computer to the internet, insert the dongle, and launch Astra Professional.

Step 2: Insert the USB flash drive containing the License;

Step 3: In the Astra-Professional software, click "Select License File";

Step 4: Select the License file from the USB flash drive, then fill in the "User", "Mail", and "TelePhone" information, and click "Activate" to successfully activate the software;

When switching to a new computer, the license must be uninstalled from the previously activated computer before repeating Steps 1–4 on the new computer to reactivate it.

  1. Once the software has been activated on a computer, you can simply insert the dongle to run the application. There's no necessity to repeat the activation process.
  2. For your convenience, you can locate the activated License file (original License file name appended with "activated") within the C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Astra Professional directory and then copy it to your USB flash drive. Subsequently, when you use this copied License file to activate other computers, there will be no requirement to re-enter the customer information.
  3. The dongle License supports parallel use of multiple authorizations. It can automatically switch over when the key expires without manual operation; manual activation is required for first-time use.

For the first use, please note​

  1. First, establish the data archiving location - click the "File - Select Directory" option in the upper - left corner of the software. In the pop-up window, select the folder path where the data needs to be saved, and click "OK". The name of the set folder should avoid Chinese characters and special symbols.
  2. Please calibrate the system with reference to the calibration instructions in Chapter 5. Open Settings - AI Settings, select the default "Yolov8" for the video recognition engine, and turn on the "Markerless" recognition switch.

  1. If capturing multiple people, the maximum number of people can be modified. The default value is 1.
